Flowers for Frances
Frances wished for flowers to brighten her room at the Inpatient Center and a new hairstyle.
Frances always loved gardening and spending time outdoors. Since being in the Inpatient Center, she missed her old routine and smelling the flowers in her garden. She wished for flowers to be brought to her room and a new hairstyle to add cheer and lift her spirits.
Thanks to a generous Wish Grantor like you, Frances was able to have several flower arrangements delivered to her room and her hair styled one final time. Rita, her daughter, said, “My mom lit up when the flowers arrived. I really appreciate the care that was put into taking care of my mother before she passed.”
Lorraine’s wish is to be pampered one final time. Frequently, it’s the little things that seem to lift one’s spirits in a time of crisis.
Always an independent person, Lorraine has recently felt isolated due to her inability to drive anymore because of her health.
Her children mentioned how much she enjoyed getting her hair done, and thought it might lift her spirits. When they discussed the idea with Lorraine, she loved the idea and said, “When you look good, you do feel good.” Lorraine’s oldest son Sean added, “My mother never really took much time for herself, she has always focused on helping my brothers and chasing after her grandkids. I know the opportunity to be pampered will lift her spirits.”
With your gift, you can help lift Lorraine’s spirits.
Marilyn’s Day Out
Marilyn would like a trip to her favorite local salon, The Snip n Barn for a haircut, manicure and pedicure.
There’s nothing quite like a trip to the beauty salon to make one feel like a million bucks!
The Snip n Barn is Marilyn’s favorite salon, where she loves to visit with her stylist. It’s been the highlight of her week for many years. Her son reports, “she loves going there because they always get her style just right and the stylists are just a fun bunch of people.”
Unfortunately, due to her declining health, Marilyn hasn’t been able to visit the Snip N Barn in quite some time. She misses the friendships she has formed with the staff and other patrons, as well as the feeling of looking beautiful after her visit.
Marilyn’s simple wish is to be pampered with a haircut, style and pedicure from her favorite salon.
Nichole’s wish is a simple one, to have her nails done one last time.
Oftentimes, it’s the little things that seem to lift one’s spirits the most when in a time of crisis.
As Nichole’s health has declined, she had a simple request that she shared with her daughter and caregiver- to get a manicure and pedicure. “Going to the salon has been the highlight of mom’s week for years. She says having a fresh coat of polish makes her feel like herself again. Mom loves to gab with all the other ladies about the latest happenings- its a social event for her,”said Amy, Nichole’s daughter.
Unfortunately, because of her condition, Nichole has been unable to physically go to a nail salon. Nichole’s wish is to have the salon come to her at the Covenant inpatient center.
