Flowers for Frances
Frances would like flowers for her room at the Inpatient Center and a haircut to make her feel beautiful.
On any sunny afternoon, Frances could be found in the garden. She enjoyed being outdoors; watching butterflies flit from flower to flower in the springtime and the seasons changing in autumn.
Due to changes in her health, Frances now resides in an Inpatient Center and has been unable to enjoy the sunshine on a regular basis. Her wish is for some flowers to brighten her room and get her hair “done” like she use to do with friends.
Marilyn’s Day Out
Marilyn would like a trip to her favorite local salon, The Snip n Barn for a haircut, manicure and pedicure.
There’s nothing quite like a trip to the beauty salon to make one feel like a million bucks!
The Snip n Barn is Marilyn’s favorite salon, where she loves to visit with her stylist. It’s been the highlight of her week for many years. Her son reports, “she loves going there because they always get her style just right and the stylists are just a fun bunch of people.”
Unfortunately, due to her declining health, Marilyn hasn’t been able to visit the Snip N Barn in quite some time. She misses the friendships she has formed with the staff and other patrons, as well as the feeling of looking beautiful after her visit.
Marilyn’s simple wish is to be pampered with a haircut, style and pedicure from her favorite salon.
Nothing feels better than time with the ones you love. Mae’s wish is to travel to her sister’s home for a final lunch.
As children, Mae and her sister, Cora were inseparable. They spent almost all their time together and shared everything. Even as adults, the pair would meet for lunch a few times a week and talk for hours.
When the two could no longer drive to meet, lunch plans started to fall through. Mae eventually had to move in with her son a few hours away due to her failing health. She often speaks about the isolation she feels and how much she misses spending time with her sister.
Mae’s wish is to travel to Cora’s town and have lunch one final time to reminisce and say goodbye.
Lorraine’s wish is to be pampered one final time. Frequently, it’s the little things that seem to lift one’s spirits in a time of crisis.
Always an independent person, Lorraine has recently felt isolated due to her inability to drive anymore because of her health.
Her children mentioned how much she enjoyed getting her hair done, and thought it might lift her spirits. When they discussed the idea with Lorraine, she loved the idea and said, “When you look good, you do feel good.” Lorraine’s oldest son Sean added, “My mother never really took much time for herself, she has always focused on helping my brothers and chasing after her grandkids. I know the opportunity to be pampered will lift her spirits.”
With your gift, you can help lift Lorraine’s spirits.
